CAT 2009: Only study is not important

By TCYonline.com

Fighting a war ‘within’ is a bigger challenge for an average MBA aspirant gearing up for the upcoming CAT, than the war ‘without’. The question now is how well he is girded up for the Actual-Day.
Only study is not enough for winning over CAT fight. One should have an positive attitude and balanced mind before going for the CAT fight.
Here are some points to ponder:

Stay well connected: Come out of your cocoon and engage in some ‘gup-shup’ with your peers over your mobile or as online chat. Or, better still have a small ‘samosa’ party. That will give you a chance to exchange your preparation strategies with your friends. Not a bad idea to even advance your birthday where you can dance your (CAT) blues away.

Learn to relax: Unfortunately, most of us in India don’t know how to relax. We tend to oversleep and get tired. How about a soft instrumental music for your troubled nerves? That would be nice following a long and drab day glued to your books. If you are a movie buff, enjoy some real reel life.

Limber up: The CAT exam preparation is bound to stretch you to your mental limits. You had enough of mental sweating. Simultaneously one should go out for a long walk and have stretching workouts. That will rejuvenate you. We are sure that following this advice you would be able to double up your efforts at the study table.

Eat right: It goes without saying that fresh fruit and vegetables will go a long way in keeping you in fine fettle. That would keep your system in top gear. Your long sittings require lots of water to drain out toxins from the body.

Well, all sorts of thoughts might come to your mind at this stage. Sometimes you ask yourself, “Is it worth it? One bad mock and you tend to feel down in the dumps. Everybody has his highs and lows – sometimes your mood swings you to cloud nine and sometimes to the lowest rung down the ladder.

All we want you to do is to cheer up. For, CAT is a world no doubt. But there are worlds beyond CAT. Good luck!
